Someone mentioned Scott Pilgrim the other day, and I was in Dixon's soon after, so here we are. Yes!
- The Frank Black song, "I Heard Ramona Sing", is good (as his solo stuff seems to be with an impressive high strike rate).
- So are a whole lot of others by acts who I don't know ("Sleazy Bed Track" by the Bluetones; "It's Getting Boring by the Sea" by Blood Red Shoes) or don't know well ("By Your Side" by Beachwood Sparks; "Teenage Dream" by T.Rex - epic).
- "Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl"! A real old sentimental favourite.
- A very Metric-y Metric song, "Black Sheep".
- Amusing Sex Bob-omb and other movie band entries.
- Beck's string-laden "Ramona", a bit of a throwback to Sea Change (in retrospect a really rather good album, though I remember finding it only kind of pleasant and maybe a bit on the dull side at the time).
