"Marilyn Monroe" (Bendigo Art Gallery)

Mostly an excuse for an excursion, but Marilyn is such an iconic figure of the 20th century that it was kind of worth it to be immersed in images of her, including a generous range of 'moving pictures' extracts / extended montages as well as a small selection of her personal possessions and (less interestingly for me) film and performance costumes and dresses.

Richard C Miller - "Marilyn Monroe" (1946)
Milton H Green - "Marilyn Monroe as Pensive Ballerina" (1954)

Seward Johnson - "Forever Marilyn" (2011) - hugely and garishly installed in the centre of Bendigo

(w/ Erandathie, Nicola & their friend Freddie; Nic's partner Simon opted to be anti-Marilyn and visit the permanent collection of the gallery instead)
