Aimee Potwatka - The Parliament

Just a good read, another reminder of how it feels to read fiction for pleasure. The main storyline is exciting enough if somewhat predictable as their situation, trapped in the library by the mysterious mass of murderous owls, grows more desperate and Mad is dipped further and further into her childhood trauma, while the inset novel - The Silent Queen - proves more or less interesting in its own right (the way it renders its fantasy reminded me of the Mordant's Need books) as well as for how it reflects back into the main narrative.
