The 'assembly' cut, which is about 30 minutes longer than the theatrical and includes some additional and quite striking visuals of the prison planet at the start, a sub-plot (or plot component) involving a first successful capture of the alien and its release by one of the prisoners, and a general dialing up of the religious - including hellish (for all that this is a weak installment and that the aliens in general have become a fixture on our pop culture landscape, there's still a certain force to the series' dark vision) - elements.
